Episode 06: Dr. Andrea Stout
Dr. Andrea Stout is the director of the Cell and Developmental Biology (CDB) Microscopy Core & Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
Andrea (@aleestout) enjoys science, pets, Cheez-its, and living in Philly. The CDB core offers training and confocal microscopy and Andrea has an expertise in imaging, with a particular love of camera-based widefield imaging.

Research
“My expertise is in light microscopy, with special emphasis on confocal and super-resolution microscopy. My background is in physics and biophysics, specifically using optical methods to probe cellular and molecular dynamics. As Director of the CDB Microscopy Core, I combine these skills with my experience and interest in science education to provide training and imaging services on a variety of cutting-edge commercial microscopes to the Penn research community.”
